Prisco’s final 2024 NFL Mock Draft: Giants trade up for their signal-caller, Vikings let QB come to them

Alright, for those who might not be following closely, let me clarify a few things, especially considering recent events where interest seems to be waning.

This mock draft isn’t about who teams should pick; it’s a prediction of who they will pick. It’s a straightforward, predictive mock, and I couldn’t care less about how accurate it turns out to be. It’s my take on how things will unfold, not how they ought to unfold. There’s a distinction there.

Now, let’s dive into my mock draft.

In all our predictive mocks, we start off with a sure thing: the Chicago Bears snagging USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick. It’s as clear as day.

From there, it gets trickier.

I’m projecting LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels to go second to the Washington Commanders, but things get interesting after that. I’ve got the New York Giants leaping from the 6th spot to the 3rd to nab North Carolina’s Drake Maye. They strike a deal with the New England Patriots, surrendering their 6th pick, a second-rounder this year, and another next year to secure Maye.

In return, the Patriots acquire much-needed draft assets and opt for Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy at No. 6, a player they seem to have a strong interest in based on conversations across the league. It’s a mutually beneficial trade, even if I personally rate Maye higher.

The second trade in this mock involves the Philadelphia Eagles making a move for a cornerback. I see them trading up with the Denver Broncos to the 12th spot to secure Alabama’s Terrion Arnold. They’d part with their first-round pick, No. 22, a second-rounder this year (No. 50), and a fourth-rounder in 2025 to seal the deal.

Denver, on the other hand, would slide back and select Oregon quarterback Bo Nix while also bolstering their draft capital.

So there you have it, the essence of my final mock draft for 2024. Take it with a grain of salt—I’m sure there’ll be plenty of uproar three picks into the real deal.
