JUST IN: Six Texas Tech athletes are added to “Team Mahomes” by Adidas and Patrick Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes, a former quarterback for Texas Tech, donated $5 million on Thursday to support the South End Zone initiative at the university. The Kansas City Chiefs standout created history on Friday when he signed six Texas Tech players to non-inclusive contracts with “Team Mahomes.” The quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has started a NIL effort dubbed “Team Mahomes,” following the Red Raiders and adidas signing a 10-year deal, partly due to Mahomes’ involvement with the sportswear company. While Mahomes is in Lubbock, spending time on campus and with the sports program, the news is made.
