ESPN: The Lions Sign DL Chris Smith to an Active Roster and Promote Kennedy and Peko.
Ahead of their 2024 season opener against the Los Angeles Rams, the Detroit Lions made a number of personnel changes known. The Lions have decided to add wide receiver Tom Kennedy and defensive lineman Kyle Peko off their practice squad to the active roster for Week 1. Teams are required to sign players to the active roster once they have promoted them from the practice squad a maximum of three times, as per NFL regulations. Chris Smith, a defensive lineman, was also added to the active roster by signing him off the practice squad. Smith is the 53-man roster’s last available spot.
