ESPN: 49ers Waive/Injured WR Frank Darby and formally sign WR Robbie Chosen.
On Monday, the San Francisco 49ers declared the formal signing of wide receiver Robbie Chosen and the waiver of wide receiver Frank Darby due to an injury. If Darby is declared free tomorrow, he will go back on the 49ers injured reserve roster. Chosen, 31, joined the Jets in 2016 as an undrafted free agent after graduating from Temple. After completing his three-year rookie contract, he re-signed in 2019 as a restricted free agent, agreeing to a one-year contract worth $3.095 million. In 2020, Chosen signed a two-year, $20 million contract with the Panthers as an unrestricted free agent for the first time, opting to rejoin his college head coach, Matt Rhule.
