Breaking: Talks between the Cowboys and Dak Prescott are still ongoing.

This is a deadline-driven industry, and time is of the essence. We’ve been informed that the Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott are still working to finalise a new contract before the upcoming season begins on tomorrow. The state of affairs has changed from dire to reasonably promising. The exact rigour of the Sunday deadline is unknown. Until the current contract ends in March 2025, nothing in the CBA or elsewhere prevents a deal from being done at any point. What Dak will actually need to give up to have a chance at fully unrestricted free agency is the real question. In 2025, the Cowboys won’t be able to keep him off the market. That has some worth. Is security worth a few million dollars a year to him? Is he planning to remain in Dallas?
