Breaking: An unlikely big man is emerging as the Celtics’ preseason star.
The Boston Celtics are about to begin Luke Kornet’s third full season. Since joining the squad, the 7-foot-2 centre has established himself as a reliable substitute on the team’s bench and contributed to Boston’s run to the 2024 NBA Tournament. Kornet has performed the best in the Celtics’ three preseason games so far. Kornet is now playing in the starting lineup since Al Horford is still getting back to full shape and Kristaps Porzingis is recuperating from offseason surgery. In order to provide Horford the opportunity to come off the bench and control his minutes, he may now have to stay with that starting lineup until Porzingis returns.
